Wine Tasting Dinner
Join us on Wednesday 13th June for our Wine Tasting Dinner
4 Courses created to complement the wines from Alkoomi in Western Australia.
Alkoomi Wines is one of WA’s largest family owned and operated wine producers. Owners, Sandy and Rod Hallett, together with their children, Laura, Emily and Molly represent the third and fourth generation living and working on the Alkoomi property in Frankland River. It is this family’s love and commitment to the place they chose in the Great Southern, as well as Alkoomi’s unique combination of gravelly loam soils, warm sunny days and cool nights during the ripening season that produce grapes of intense varietal character and a sense of place. More about the wines below
This Chardonnay is very popular. It is fresh and ripe with flavours of peach and melon. It is not too dry, as it spends only a very short period of time in barrel which just helps give a bit of a creamy texture to this white wine.
Intense flavours of lemon, grapefruit and lychee with a soft mouth-watering acidity giving freshness and length to the palate.
Cab Sauv – Merlot
Soft and smooth, redolent with aromas of cassis, blueberry and savoury cigar box aromas; drinking well now although will gain complexity over the next three to five years.
A spicy black pepper full bodied Shiraz red wine has subtle flavours of plums and hints of vanilla; ready to enjoy now. Alkoomi translates to ‘the place we chose’.
